After a solid year of coding, creating YourPCM v2 from the ground up, I really enjoyed taking my foot off the gas over the festive season, but I wasn't completely absent, as I was monitoring my servers and ensuring my subscribers were being looked after when they reached out to me ...
I slept a lot, I watched a lot of TV, I spent time with my friends, and I ate so much junk over Christmas. Everyone gifted me chocolate, biscuits and wine so what's a girl to do? Can't let it go to waste, can I?
Many of us overindulge at that time of the year, so I'm not going to chastise myself for it!
I'm simply going to take action and deal with it. Properly this time as my previous attempts to lose weight are always half-hearted and fall by the wayside after a few months of slow progress.
I did give up drinking last year so I know I can give something up if I want to enough. This year it's sugar which means no more chocolate, biscuits or junk food. Yes, glucose is in virtually everything so as a foodie I'm not going to disallow scrummy food I cook myself, but refined sugar? Gone.
Not even a case of "oh but Steffi, one choccy bar on a Friday night isn't going to hurt you!" Thanks, subconscious, but no ... there lies a slippery slope, because one choccy bar will quickly become two choccy bars ... so shut up brain, I'm in charge.
I'm doing weekly meal prep (I've had scrummy curry, rice and Indian snacks this week) which is all about portion control, but as I prep it on a Sunday, I'm not going to fall by the wayside, wonder what I want for my dinner, pop a mini pizza in the oven and have it with a pile of chips. Carb loading is a thing of the past now.
And I'm going to take a little exercise as well!
I've been walking this week. My eventual goal is to get back into the fields, but as they're saturated with water right now (they always are in winter) and the footpaths are swampy I'm sticking to the local roads.
There's a nice 1/2 mile country lane near me so I've walked to the end of that and back a couple of times this week, so I'm just prepping my body ready for when the fields dry up again. After all, I've been sitting at my desk for a year and my knees are seizing up. Don't want to overdo it and damage something.
And I haven't even talked about business!
I'll save that for my blog post next week, but needless to say, I do have a marketing plan and will be growing the YourPCM subscriber base in 2025.
Based in the charming village of Hanslope in Buckinghamshire, UK, I bring over 30 years of experience in web development. From creating my first website for the Open University in 1993, through being part of the dot com boom, to my explorations in SaaS and AI over the last few years, my journey has been a rich tapestry of web projects, big and small, both funded and bootstrapped.
Originally developed during the pandemic, at the start of 2025, I released the next iteration of YourPCM, version 2, which is all about 'Easy Contact Management for Small Business Owners'. Is it a CRM? Yes, but I don't call it that because people glaze over at the mention of such things. CRMs are boring, difficult to get to grips with, and it's a nightmare to get help when you need it.
YourPCM is none of those things! It's simple to use, well-supported, feature rich and beautiful, right out of the box. It's available on a simple monthly subscription with no long-term tie-in. Book a demo or grab your own 14-working-day free trial and discover why YourPCM is all about easy contact management for small business owners.
My head is in the cloud, my heart belongs to the web, and my soul is filled with such beautiful code 💗
