I'm sitting at my desk late on a Thursday evening and it seems as though YourPCM Version 2 is finally complete. Well, when I say 'complete', the actual CRM and all its bells and whistles are done, I just now need to create all the supporting stuff to go with it ...
Coder's fingers dance, Across the keyboard with grace, Creating magic
That was a long hard slog! I started the project at the beginning of June and now we're nearing the end of October, so a good solid five months of long days, late nights and entire weekends taken over by it. In addition, I've been writing blog posts for my legacy blogging clients as well as sending loads of mailers for a concierge client.
And I admit that on occasion, I've forgotten to do stuff!
I kick myself when it happens, and feel hugely guilty about it, but I become so focused on what I'm doing that I've been missing networking events recently. I even forgot to do a blog post recently and had to get up extra early to finish it for my client.
But ... it's totally been worth it as V2 is absolutely beautiful, flexible and easy to use. Giving myself the freedom to rebuild my CRM from the ground up and add in all the things I wanted to put in there, but didn't have the time to do was a great idea.
There's a lot of AI in V2 as well, and most of it is quite subtle and behind the scenes so subscribers won't really know it's there. AI Steffi is the most obvious implementation of artificial intelligence as she's my support chatbot and sits in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. She'll be taking care of 80% of any support calls, and the AI will also create Custom SMS, Emails and Mailers, but there's a lot of stuff hidden away behind the scenes too.
What's left to do?
Next week I'll be adding all the Question and Answer sets to AI Steffi and I've got to figure out how to convert my existing subscribers from V1 to V2 at the click of a button, so that will keep me busy in November. December is about updating my website and tying in the add scripts so people can start a 14-day free trial. Oh, and also write the onboarding email sequences ... and test it all.
Still a lot to do, but I'm on target to start converting existing subscribers by the end of November and will be asking them to book Zoom meetings in the next few weeks.
My right knee is playing up!
It's getting really stiff at times, but I'm not surprised after spending almost a year at my desk coding (remember I wrote sBlogIt! at the start of the year), and I am 57 after all, so no wonder my joints are beginning to have issues. It doesn't help that I love being in my new office; it really is an awesome place to be.
So in 2025, I'm going to get out and about more, face-to-face network meetings, getting some work done and meeting subscribers in coffee shops around the area, and also just take walks in the beautiful countryside I'm surrounded by.
A bit more activity, some more exercise and a lot less coding.
Based in the charming village of Hanslope in Buckinghamshire, UK, I bring over 30 years of experience in web development. From creating my first website for the Open University in 1993, through being part of the dot com boom, to my explorations in SaaS and AI over the last few years, my journey has been a rich tapestry of web projects, big and small, both funded and bootstrapped.
Originally developed during the pandemic, at the start of 2025, I released the next iteration of YourPCM, version 2, which is all about 'Easy Contact Management for Small Business Owners'. Is it a CRM? Yes, but I don't call it that because people glaze over at the mention of such things. CRMs are boring, difficult to get to grips with, and it's a nightmare to get help when you need it.
YourPCM is none of those things! It's simple to use, well-supported, feature rich and beautiful, right out of the box. It's available on a simple monthly subscription with no long-term tie-in. Book a demo or grab your own 14-working-day free trial and discover why YourPCM is all about easy contact management for small business owners.
My head is in the cloud, my heart belongs to the web, and my soul is filled with such beautiful code 💗
