It's interesting how my coding process has developed over the years. Sometimes my inner coder girl happily works away for hours, days, weeks and months without a single whinge, but just recently she refused to come out and play at all ...
Coder girl at work again, Tapping keys with precision, Creating beauty
I can see it now. You're wondering, "What the hell is she talking about?" with this inner coder girl business. I view it as part of my personality that allows me to delve into the nitty-gritty of turning coffee into code. I have an idea, I mull it over, and when the idea is fully formed, that part of me - my coder girl - takes over and gets on with creating it.
I had a Hulk moment during the summer heat!
Remember in the Avengers film, Infinity War, when Bruce Banner was trying to get the Hulk to come out and stomp on Thanos' goons? And Hulk refused, shouting, "Nooooooo!", then Bruce called him an asshole? Yeah, my coder girl did that when the weather heated up.
I had a whole list of things I wanted to do. Some minor tweaks for sBlogIt! and a couple of feature requests for YourPCM. As the temperature of my office rose past 30 degrees centigrade, that part of me became more stubborn and didn't want to do it.
This got me thinking about what excites me about coding, which led me to the conclusion that I actually enjoy turning new ideas into something solid (as solid as something can be on the web) rather than tinkering with something I wrote a year ago. Interesting realisation.
So I've bribed the coder girl with shiny new things!
I'm currently in the initial stages of creating something new. My idea has crystallised, and she's all, "Hmmm, that looks interesting", and has put down the cookies, turned off Netflix and wandered to the front of my mind to come and take a look. Now that the weather has cooled off a bit, she's more amiable to just getting on with it again.
So what is it? A chatbot for sBlogIt! which contains information from all the blog posts on my client's blogs and all the content from their website. This will appear as a pop-up in the bottom left-hand corner of their blog and will not only provide quick answers to their questions but also offer a clickable URL to the blog post that contains further information.
Importantly, I will make it available for installation on my clients' websites, allowing their web designers to add the script. This shared resource will provide answers from both the blog and the website as well as allow me to add other Q&A sets as needed. It will become a strong bridge between the two entities, even though they're in the same domain to start with.
It's also going to be a key part of YourECHO, which is my next full-blown SaaS product, but designed for a B2C audience rather than a B2B one. When I tell people about my "Evolving Autobiography" idea (also known as, "Your digital pal who thinks it's you!"), they usually respond with "Wow, what a great idea!" so I'm heartened to progress the work further.
Creating the sBlogIt! chatbot will help me refine my previous efforts and add a lot of extra depth to it. It's undoubtedly worth creating, but I have a timeline for YourECHO, so I need to get back to work coding again.
The older I get, the more I understand myself!
My inner coder girl is now all excited about creating something shiny and new, dives headfirst into the coding, and then, when she's deep into it, I take a swerve sideways and get the YourPCM feature requests done before she realises what I'm doing. Clever hey?
I know myself so well ...
Love, light & logic ...

Based in the charming village of Hanslope in Buckinghamshire, UK, I bring over 30 years of experience in web development. From creating my first website for the Open University in 1993, through being part of the dot com boom, to my explorations in SaaS and AI over the last few years, my journey has been a rich tapestry of web projects, big and small, both funded and bootstrapped.
Originally developed during the pandemic, at the start of 2025, I released the next iteration of YourPCM, version 2, which is all about 'Easy Contact Management for Small Business Owners'. Is it a CRM? Yes, but I don't call it that because people glaze over at the mention of such things. CRMs are boring, difficult to get to grips with, and it's a nightmare to get help when you need it.
YourPCM is none of those things! It's simple to use, well-supported, feature rich and beautiful, right out of the box. It's available on a simple monthly subscription with no long-term tie-in. Book a demo or grab your own 14-working-day free trial and discover why YourPCM is all about easy contact management for small business owners.
My head is in the cloud, my heart belongs to the web, and my soul is filled with such beautiful code 💗
