Sometimes Things Don't Go As Planned: The Universe Just Says No!

No battle plan survives contact with the enemy! It's an old adage that applies to my coding efforts over the past month or so. You start off with good intentions and a schedule, then the Universe says hang on a minute and gives you all sorts of diversions ...

Universe so vast, weather says no, relaxation time ahead,

Universe so vast, weather says no, relaxation time ahead,

The biggest issue I've had is the weather. Now we all love to moan about it when it's cold and raining, but to be honest, closing all the windows, pulling on a hoodie and just getting on with it is the best way for me. When the temperatures get over 25 degrees (my office fan kicking in automatically lets me know), the coder girl part of me starts to complain.

She co-operates with me less and less as the
temperatures get higher!

And that's an issue for me as I have a whole ton of stuff I want to get done on YourPCM right now, and it simply isn't happening. I can't blame her though as I've spent every day since the pandemic working on YourPCM and upgrading sBlogIt! so it wasn't until late spring that I actually got to take a break.

From today and throughout the weekend, we're forecast to break the 30-degree barrier, and I don't see any coding getting done. Doing my daily platform tasks, such as writing blog posts and sharing or mailing them, is good to go because they happen in the morning while it's reasonably cool. By the time the sun is high in the sky and is beating down on my office windows, I'm done.

But you know what? I'm not going to
beat myself up about it!

I've worked extremely hard over the past few years; my SaaS products are outstanding, and my business has grown from strength to strength due to my vision and efforts. So if we're going to pass the 30-degree barrier this weekend, I'm just going to relax in front of a fan, put my feet up, watch some great TV and enjoy some scrummy food.

We all know how unpredictable the British weather is, and it will cool off again soon, so that's when I'll give my inner coder girl a good talking to and we'll get back on it together.

Love, light & logic ...

About Steffi Lewis ...

Steffi Lewis

Based in the charming village of Hanslope in Buckinghamshire, UK, I bring over 30 years of experience in web development. From creating my first website for the Open University in 1993, through being part of the dot com boom, to my explorations in SaaS and AI over the last few years, my journey has been a rich tapestry of web projects, big and small, both funded and bootstrapped.

Originally developed during the pandemic, at the start of 2025, I released the next iteration of YourPCM, version 2, which is all about 'Easy Contact Management for Small Business Owners'. Is it a CRM? Yes, but I don't call it that because people glaze over at the mention of such things. CRMs are boring, difficult to get to grips with, and it's a nightmare to get help when you need it.

YourPCM is none of those things! It's simple to use, well-supported, feature rich and beautiful, right out of the box. It's available on a simple monthly subscription with no long-term tie-in. Book a demo or grab your own 14-working-day free trial and discover why YourPCM is all about easy contact management for small business owners.

My head is in the cloud, my heart belongs to the web, and my soul is filled with such beautiful code 💗
