I think the first question has to be, "What on earth is a Goto Market strategy then Steffi?" Well, in the SaaS world, it's a combination of your Ideal Customer Profile, a Manifesto, and what's called a 'West End Show'. This is designed to get the interest of those you want to either demo to, or start a free trial directly ...
What this means in practice is that your Goto Market strategy focuses your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), you write a short story in support of that (Manifesto) then all your messaging for the month (West End Show) is purely about that.
So, for the Month of April 2023:
- Our Ideal Customer Profile is self-employed individuals, solo entrepreneurs and the smallest of businesses, who usually work Business to Business, and use a spreadsheet, notebook or business card book to keep track of their customers and clients.
They use a computer day-to-day rather than staring at their phones although they like to be well-organised, they're busy, so haven't got around to investing in a proper contact database, or have had bad experiences with CRMs before that's put them off.
