 | THE WEEKLY MAILER DILEMMA | | | | | Realisations in the shower ... | Posted on 05/11/2011 @ 11:41 |
I make many realisations in the shower. Maybe it's the hot, steamy water lulling my body into relaxation that allows my mind to think freely? I know lots of people who sing in the shower but I seem to get philosophical in it.
It occurred to me this morning that I'm eventually going to run out of room on the sblogit.com weekly mailer! Although our client mailers have room for 8 articles to be displayed, the sblogit.com one has 16. Now 16 articles is quite a lot isn't it? Currently, the most I've sent out in one go was 10 and I used the 'small' layout to display them all, even though I prefer the large format one because I didn't want the clients who had posted at the beginning of the week to miss out by being so far down the page.
But sblogit.com is a growing system and my first year target is 25 clients, so what's going to happen in a month or so when I have 17 clients and they all blog in a week? The military may say "no soldier gets left behind" but how do you apply that to blogs?
I like to treat all of my clients as friends and the most important person in the world to me. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be doing what I love and building sblogit.com! I'd be working for "the man", so each one receives the highest possible levels of service from me.
But how insulting is it going to be to be left out of the weekly mailer when I publish my 17th client blog? Here's another thought ... what happens when I hit my first year target of 25 clients? Am I going to have to send out a "daily" mailer? And could that be perceived as spam if I'm sending something out everyday? Would my mailing list shrink or grow?
Hmmmm. Answers on a postcard please ...
